Welcome to the website that traces the descendants of Amanuel Carl Edwards (b. 1830) and John Painter (b. 1820), who were the grandfathers of Viola Edwards Herrman, and of Nicholas Johann Herrmann (b. 1830) and Simon August Dingerson (b. 1841), who were the grandfathers of Reuben Herrman.

Reuben Herrman was born in Fosterburg, Illinois, in 1900. He moved with his family to a homestead near Hilland in western South Dakota in 1907. Viola Edwards was born in Hartley, South Dakota, in 1911, where her family had homesteaded in 1907. She and Reuben married in 1936. They had four children.

Burjes and Heiens families

Because there are several links among the Herrmann, Dingerson, Burjes, and Heiens families, we have compiled the information that we have gathered on the Burjes and Heiens families and are including the full histories on this website.

Our goal is to provide information to the families descended from these individuals and a place to share recollections and photos. We also hope that it will generate missing information and corrections to the information that we have. We welcome all relevant contributions both on the descendants and ancestors of these individuals. Your suggestions for improvement in making this web site easier to use and more informative are also welcome.
